Oro dads earmark P5M for LGUs affected by cyclone
THE City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Councilor Ramon G. Tabor enacted an ordinance appropriating the sum of P5-million from any available sources of funds as pinpointed to by the Local Finance Committee to be made available as financial assistance to the provinces of Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Bohol, Cebu, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Albay, Masbate, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Leyte, Samar, Eastern and Nothern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Sur, Ormoc City, Tacloban City, Southern Leyte and Biliran, which were affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
The ordinance authorizes Mayor Oscar Moreno to deliver or turnover the said assistance.
Councilor President D. Elipe, author of the ordinance, said the amount to be given to each LGU will be the prerogative of the mayor. He can also seek additional appropriation to the City Council, Elipe added.
