CdeO gets 1st Place in Best Booth Competition at Phil Travel Mart

THE CAGAYAN de Oro city government booth won first place, in the city category, during the recently held Philippine Travel Mart at SM Mall of Asia on September 6-8, 2013.

The booth, focusing the city’s white water rafting adventure as the country’s water rafting capital, drew attention as tourism destination in the country besting 100 other booths nationwide.

It also showcased Mapawa Nature Park’s river trek and canyoneering adventure package which concept and design was executed by Roldan Yacapin and Gigi CasiƱo, a member of Tourism Council and of the Public Services Offices, respectively under the guidance of Ms. Dorothy Jean Pabayo, overall chairperson of the Cagayan de Oro Tourism Council.

Personnel from the city tourism also served as receptionists at the booth.

The booth, in partnership with private industries such as the Cagayan de Oro Travel and Tours (Cotta), Giya Amihanang Mindanaw Association (Gama), Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (Cohara) and Oro Association of Rafters (Oar) offer tour packages, promotional materials, gears and promotional incentives to tourists during the three-day exhibit.

Meanwhile, the City Tourism Council also thanked Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno and Madam Arlene Moreno for the all out support including Ernie Pelaez of Mapawa Nature Park and the Oar for providing gears used at the booth.
