Primavera Residences
Primavera Residences, the first eco-friendly building in Cagayan
de Oro, has partnered with PSBank for a home loan program. The two 10-storey
condominiums (one of which is still under construction) situated at Pueblo
Business Park were designed by an Italian architecture office. Architect Romolo
V. Nati says the design reduces energy consumption, self-produces renewable
energy and offers a green inner courtyard.

CAGAYAN de Oro has again produced a top board passer.
Councilor Roger Abaday said Miriam Avanzado Miranda of Golden Heritage Polytechnic College in Barangay Carmen, topped the Licensure Examination for Teachers given last September 29, 2013 with a grade of 90.60%.
In view of this, the City Council during its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Caesar Ian E. Acenas adopted a resolution congratulating and commending her for this achievement.
In Resolution No. 11521-2013, the City Council also commended and congratulated Golden Heritage Polytechnic College for producing Top One successful Teaching Licensure examinee in the recent examinations for teachers.
The resolution was authored by Councilor President D. Elipe.

In an effort to raise the bar of the 'not-so-encouraging' performance level of Cagayan de Oro City School's Division, the City Government through the leadership of City Mayor Oscar S. Moreno in partnership with Synergeia president and CEO Dr. Nene Guevara, Xavier University president Fr. Roberto 'Bobby' C. Yap and city schools division superintendent Dr. Elena M. Borcillo, initiated the First Cagayan de Oro City Education Summit on Nov. 16, 2013 at the City Tourism Hall attended by local education officials, principals, teachers, barangay officials, parents and youth representatives. Through the summit, Mayor Moreno is hopeful that the city's performance level on education will ultimately go a notch higher, especially on the national achievement test, survival and dropout rate.

Oro dads earmark P5M for LGUs affected by cyclone
THE City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Councilor Ramon G. Tabor enacted an ordinance appropriating the sum of P5-million from any available sources of funds as pinpointed to by the Local Finance Committee to be made available as financial assistance to the provinces of Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Bohol, Cebu, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Albay, Masbate, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Leyte, Samar, Eastern and Nothern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Sur, Ormoc City, Tacloban City, Southern Leyte and Biliran, which were affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
The ordinance authorizes Mayor Oscar Moreno to deliver or turnover the said assistance.
Councilor President D. Elipe, author of the ordinance, said the amount to be given to each LGU will be the prerogative of the mayor. He can also seek additional appropriation to the City Council, Elipe added.
