Three winners from Mindanao
in the recently concluded “Pepsi Overdrive” nationwide promo drove home today with their respective new Mitsubishi Mirage cars after awarding
ceremonies held at the Cagayan de Oro City plant of Pepsi-Cola Products
Philippines Inc.
The lucky winners, Precy
Sequiten Balon of Cagayan de Oro, Eric Serquiña Somera of Cagayan de Oro, and
Jennelyn P. Belardo of General Santos City, are among the loyal customers
of Pepsi products in the country who joined the promotional campaign from
September 16 to December 24 last year.
Balon, a long-time Pepsi
drinker with her children at school, said she had sent in daily entries of from
10 to 200 but it was the 150 entries in one day from which one was chosen as
the winning crown. “I’m super happy,” she said as she came with her husband to
claim the prize.
Somera, who bought four cases
of assorted Pepsi beverages for the 8th year anniversary celebration
with his wife, said he divided the crowns into five per day but decided to use
all the last 10 crowns in one batch of entries. He won from this last batch.
Belardo, a graduating
marketing management student, sent in less than 20 entries a day and her
consistency paid off. “I’m a working student,” she said, “and this car helps a
lot in my studies!”
Awarding the winners were
Pepsi Cagayan de Oro Plant general manager Joemar
E. Alova, Pepsi CDO finance manager Christine Jamorin, Pepsi CDO marketing
manager Sanny M. Calam and Ms. Tina Reyes of Diamond Motors who introduced the
car details/warranty and led the signing of documents for registration.
In his remarks, Alova said
this has been the biggest Pepsi promotion in years and follows the successful “Hataw
Araw-Araw” sales promo held early last year. “This is part of the community
program of Pepsi,” he said, adding that “it will not stop here.”
Another promo is slated for
2014, Calam said. “We have a lot in store for you this year,” he added.
In addition to the 100
Mitsubishi cars, the “Overdrive” promo also gave away 30,000 bottles of
two-liter Pepsi Cola and 100,000 free P16-load to the cellphones of
participants.
The promo for Pepsi Cola,
Mountain Dew, 7Up, Mirinda, Mug root beer, and Sting energy drink asked
customers to text an 8-digit code found under the crown.
“Watch for another big promo
coming!” Alova said.
