THE final four lucky winners
in the “Pepsi Overdrive” nationwide promo have been awarded with their brand
new Mitsubishi Mirage cars at the Cagayan de Oro plant of Pepsi-Cola Products
Philippines Inc.
Carlos Z. Bongaos of Butuan
City, Leopardo B. Delis of Misamis Oriental, Ariel A. Balon of Cagayan de Oro
and Mariamel T. Pacana of Cagayan de Oro received their respective car keys
from Pepsi executives and a representative from Diamond Motors.
Bongaos was Day 46 winner in
the 100-cars, 100-days promotion which ran from September 16 to December 24
last year. He won from a Sting crown, one of the valid products along with
Pepsi Regular, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Light, Mirinda, 7-Up, Mug and Mountain Dew.
Delis, a utility driver for a
bank, joined the promo while snacking with a Pepsi drink one day. He said he
did not expect to win but was overjoyed when he received a call informing him
of the happy result from the electronic raffle. He was Day 78 winner.
Balon said he has been a
Pepsi drinker since childhood years in Davao del Norte, eagerly searching for a
“Free Pepsi” crown that was a common promotional offer in the 1970s. When his
wife Precy won in this Overdrive promo he joined also, texting his entries from
two cases of Pepsi 8oz drinks that he had bought for a Christmas party on
December 17. On Day 93 he won.
Pacana, who runs a catering
business, considered herself very lucky by winning from just three entries she
submitted on December 21, although she had been texting entries since the first
week of that month. She was Day 97 winner.
During the awarding ceremony,
Pepsi CDO Plant general manager Joemar Alova extended his congratulations to
the winners as Pepsi CDO finance manager Christine Jamorin, Pepsi CDO trade marketing
manager Sanny Calam and Pepsi CDO Region 1 sales manager Manolo Mariano Jr.
handed over the symbolic keys.
The actual car keys were
given to each of the winners by Tina Reyes of Diamond Motors as she showed them
the safety features of the high-end Mirage. Earlier she explained the warranty
and introduced the service centers where drivers can go for periodic
maintenance of the car.
Last January 23 the
management of Pepsi Cagayan de Oro Plant awarded Mirage cars to three winners:
Precy S. Balon of Cagayan de Oro, Eric S. Somera of Cagayan de Oro, and
Jennelyn P. Belardo of General Santos City. Thirteen other Mindanao winners
were awarded in Davao City and five in Zamboanga City.
In addition to the 100
Mitsubishi cars, the “Overdrive” promo also gave away 30,000 bottles of
two-liter Pepsi Cola and 100,000 free mobile phone load to the participants.
